June 8 – 10, 2019. Missoula, Montana
September 13 – 15, 2019. Missoula, Montana
Instructor: Eileen Rafferty
Join me for a weekend of exploring creative ways to print and present your photographs. There are so many methods and materials we can use to craft a unique print. Each weekend we’ll explore a different set of alternative printing methods, each using traditional art materials combined with inkjet printers.
In the Spring, we’ll focus on printing on alternative materials such as rice paper, canvas, watercolor paper, wood, and glass. Working with inkjet printers and Image Transfers, we’ll examine various transfer methods onto exciting surfaces as well as examine how to choose the most effective surface to express your ideas. In the Fall workshop, we’ll dive into UV processes, including Cyanotypes, Van Dyke Browns, Lumens and Chemigrams. All of these techniques utilize wet darkroom materials with the power of the sun to create unique and sometimes unexpected results.
Materials for printing are provided as well as access to traditional art supplies and large format printers. No prior printing experience is necessary.
Cost for Workshop: $850. Includes materials for alternative printing. A deposit of $250 is due at time of registration.
Elizabeth and Eileen provided a truly one of a kind experience for me. The possibilities, exposure to materials and processes along with their guidance and expertise along the way made this one of the most significant and impactful workshops I’ve taken in years. It’s a must for the photographer who wants to share images in a creative way.
I loved this class! Elizabeth and Eileen really got my creative juices going. The sky really is the limit. Like something? Print on it! Thanks, ladies.
